The Champions’ Trophy made for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships
Liberec 2009 was designed in the style of Czech cubism. The trophy consists of an elegant cubist column with a crystal globe (a symbol of the World Championships) at its peak. The blue chaton denotes the position
of the Czech Republic and at the same time represents the producer of the trophy, the Preciosa Company. Two variants were prepared. The victor’s trophy consists of five stones. It is 32.5 cm high and has a total of 70 facets. The trophy for 2nd – 6th place consists of three stones. It is 21.5 cm high and has a total of 40 facets. Dimensions: 325 x 80 mm, 215 x 70 mm
Preciosa Figurky prepared the VIP gifts for the World Championships which were designated for the important individuals from international commercial and political life who were invited to this sports event. The
appearance of these gifts combines contemporary glass design with traditional Czech art.
As well as the gifts for the VIPs, further souvenir items were made of crystal with the Championships’ official logo. Visitors to the World Championships were able to purchase some of these items as souvenirs.
The charity event in support of handicapped children which was held during the World Championships was a successful project. Preciosa Figurky manufactured machine cut stones with the logo of the World
Championships, from whose sale 90 CZK went to the Jedlička Institute in Liberec.
