Preciosa – Not Merely Production
To understand crystal, one has to understand people who work with it. That is why we established a foundation. We are anxious to improve people’s lives – and not only those in our staff. We believe that for us and for our surroundings, the following things are the most essential: health, sports, education, research, culture, charity, and environment protection.
We grant scholarships to bring up young professionals at technical colleges and universities, and we sponsor research establishments. This is why we can be the best. Prevention and treatment of diseases and hospital equipment are subsidised from our health fund. We support sports, mainly the sports activities of children. Rest and relaxation after work? This is where we direct our cultural fund activities – for example, we contributed to the reconstruction of the theatre building in the town where our company is based.
Typically, foundations work for charity. We also help the disabled and the chronically ill. Taking care of our senior citizens is not negligible either. It was absolutely natural for us to provide help in the areas destroyed by floods in 1997 and 2002.
Our environment protection fund directed its activities at keeping the beauties of our mountains alive. After all, it is thanks to these mountains the unique Bohemian glass came to life.
