Maintenance of Big Lighting Fixtures with the Assistance of a  Lifting Mechanism

Maintenance of any lighting fixture means regular cleaning and an exchange of  the lighting sources in particular. Chandeliers, however, are often placed in hard to reach places. To make the chandelier assembly and handling easier PRECIOSA – LUSTRY, a.s. offers our customers an electric lifting mechanism together with the delivery of big lighting fixtures. This device enables lifting and lowering of  the chandelier.

The base of the lifting mechanism is an electric lifting winch which can be operated by remote control. The winch is placed in a false ceiling above the fixture. Several positions can be pre-set to which the chandelier can be lowered and then lifted back into its original position.

The lifting mechanism is not meant for permanent hanging of the fixture. In its permanent position, the chandelier must be fixed to the load-bearing ceiling so that it does not hang full-weight on the winch. The winch safety lock can easily be unlocked before use.

The lifting mechanism has been used e.g. when installing the central lighting fixture in the Bolshoy Theatre in Russia (See the picture below). All parts of the huge chandelier have been assembled on the ground (a scaffold was necessary only due to the exceptional chandelier dimensions) and then lifted by our lifting mechanism into its position under the ceiling.
