We understand light
The original purpose of crystal chandeliers was to transform the light of candles into thousands of lights. Today, it is not longer a problem to obtain diffused and sufficiently intensive light. This effect can be achieved through serial, cost-effective production, which, however, is no longer true when you begin to impose stricter requirements on the atmosphere, originality and precision of manufacturing. So far Preciosa has been able to find solutions even for the most daring visions.
This can be documented with our project completed for Sheraton Grande in Myiazaki (Japan). Their “Sun” made by Preciosa is actually more than just a lighting fixture. Directed halogen lights are installed in the floor and in the ceiling. The atmosphere of light is thus created only by the reflection and refraction of light in this seemingly glowing sphere of up to two meters in diameter.
Courage and originality have to go hand in hand with utility qualities. This is why a computerized, three-dimensional sketch and a precise shop drawing are required as early as the preparation of such demanding projects.
No matter if you choose a classical chandelier or hypermodern sculpted fixture, we use models to exactly design the character and intensity of light in any place of the area to be lit.
