PRECIOSA Sparkles at the Asia Jewellery Fair

For the fourth straight year PRECIOSA was part of the largest and most prestigious Asia Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair which took place in Hong Kong from June 24-27. This year the tradeshow ran in conjunction with the other well known Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition center.

This year our booth sparkled again amongst the other jewellery manufacturers. A unique and magnificent collection of nine fused glass silhouettes (each measuring over 2m and weighing over 100 kg) formed a crystal walkway in PRECIOSA’s futuristic Crystal Venue. A further 60kg of machine-cut stones and beads, loosely strewn along the “crystal catwalk”, completed the Crystal Venue theme.

The artist behind this magically surreal creation was Iva Ouhrabkova, a renowned Czech sculptor and designer. Her concept underlined that PRECIOSA’s Genuine Czech Crystal successfully embodies high quality, unique style and excellent value. The freeform fused glass that formed the body of the flowing figures effectively contrasted with the precisely cut glittering Genuine Czech Crystal components. The incorporated PRECIOSA components intensified the effect of the sparkling giants which lined the glittering star-like catwalk. Visitors to our Venue were further thrilled to be able to take a little bit of this Hong Kong show home with them, in the form of one of a limited series of 50 unique silhouette miniatures, also designed and hand-made by Iva Ouhrabkova.

The tradeshow was a milestone for Preciosa for another reason as well. For the first time we officially presented our newest company in the PRECIOSA Group: PRECIOSA Ornela. The Ornela product line, better known under its brand name of Traditional Czech Beads, complements and completes PRECIOSA’s overall product offering of machine-cut crystal stones and beads, fine jewellery stones and more fashion jewellery components.
