On August 6 – 10, 2009, PRECIOSA participated in the largest traditional jewellery fair in India, a country with one of the greatest markets for gold and all types of gems used by jewellery makers. Preciosa has been active on the Indian market for several years during which time it became a respected and well-known supplier of top-quality stones for local jewellery makers.
The 5-day fair presented 705 exhibitors and its premises attracted over 24 000 visitors. Unfortunately, the current economic situation on the world’s markets has a negative impact on both fair and exhibition turnouts and primarily on trade volumes and reduced inquires. Nevertheless, this year’s fair’s figures are very good and comparable with the other fairs organized this year.
Preciosa set up its stand in cooperation with its Authorized Distributor on the Indian market, United Gem Creations PVT. Ltd. The stand dignifiedly presented the business name Preciosa as well as the products from Plant No. 17; i.e. jewellery stones of cubic zirconia and other synthetic and natural materials.
The stand was located in the main fair hall among the Indian elite of jewellery corporations dealing in diamonds, genuine natural and synthetic stones and the largest Indian jewellery makers. Preciosa’s stand was attended by Ing. Luboš Petržilka who, acting together with our dealers, held negotiations with existing business partners as well as with prospective customers.
We successfully presented some of our new products at the fair. The novelty consists of new colours and hues that are obtained by means of several technologies. Visitors showed a major interest in stones processed with the unique H.Y.T. technology that was formerly mainly used in connection with cut glass stones.
We also presented the new cut of the Lotus Cut jewellery stone as well as stones of Markazit, which is a natural material that was used for silver jewellery production in historic times.
Our stand, however, did not present only Preciosa’s stone solitaires as it also exhibited jewellery items by several large jewellery makers whose products bear our stones.
The item in focus was the unique motif of a divine chariot with a team of horses, a wonderful work of art of gold-plated silver set with white CZ stones from Preciosa.
Our participation in the fair was successful. Preciosa’s name and products were seen and much talked about. Preciosa has solid foundations to build its future on yet it must continually improve its quality because our competitors do not idle and keep their heads up for opportunities. We are convinced that our accomplished presentation and negotiations held at the fair will bring their fruit in the form of better sales.
